Director, Commercial Real Estate & Business Advisory

Allen Liaw

With over 24 years of specialized experience in commercial real estate across British Columbia and Alberta, Allen brings a depth of knowledge and strategic insight to his role. He has built a strong track record in land sales, major redevelopment transactions, income‑producing properties, and business advisory while serving clients ranging from private developers, private equity groups, family offices to institutional investors.  Prior to joining Promerita, Allen founded and led LandMax and BizzMax under the Max Group of Companies. He structured high-value deals, such as 80‑unit townhouse land assemblies in Richmond, a 153,000 sq ft Chrysler Distribution facility in Red Deer, and 74 units multifamily conversion in Edmonton.

Allen’s proficiency spans both the capital and operational sides of commercial real estate and business brokering. He excels in guiding clients through complex transactions, leveraging market analysis, zoning, due diligence, and negotiation to achieve superior risk-adjusted returns. His insight into land development, redevelopment, and operating businesses complements Promerita’s multidisciplinary approach, particularly in bridging People, Capital & Opportunities within their Capital & Real Estate division.

At Promerita, Allen’s value lies in his ability to seamlessly integrate real estate brokering with capital advisory. He enhances the firm's capacity to originate high-quality off-market opportunities, and to structure joint ventures. His reputation—as the “Visionary Real Estate Maestro” at Max Group—underscores a unique personal brand that drives deal flow and strategic partnerships.  Promerita clients benefit from his holistic approach, whether they're acquiring land, investing in income properties, or brokering businesses with strong EBITDA profiles.

Outside of his professional pursuits, Allen enjoys spending time playing basketball, riding custom motorcycles, and spending time in nature with his family.
